David's buddy Douglas Reynolds revealed the tragic news of his passing on Friday, and since then, condolences to the gifted singer have been pouring in.
David Lindley Medical Fundraiser, a page on Custom Ink where T-shirts were being sold to raise money for medical costs, was where Douglas posted the news of David's passing.
He wrote, per the Mail: "I am saddened to pass on the news that my friend David left the planet this morning, March 3. Thank you to everyone who purchased a tee and donated to the fundraiser.
"It will help his girls — his wife Joanie and his daughter Rosanne — not have to think about money at this sad time.
"Bills are still pouring in and there will of course be final expenses. I thought of turning this off but have been encouraged to keep it going for his girls, so I will."

David Lindley, who was 78 years old, passed away on Friday after apparently being ill for several months.
The American musician is well recognized for his collaborations with notable figures in the field, such as Ry Cooder, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Dolly Parton, and Rod Stewart.
In the 1960s, he also started the band El Rayo-X and collaborated with Chris Darrow to create the psychedelic folk ensemble Kaleidoscope.

Lindley had worked with country icon Dolly Parton in the 1970s and 1980s.
First in 1977, when they worked together on Here You Come Again.
